ACHIEVEMENTS

 

-Designed and tested hardware, then provided ETSI Certification for 450 MHz modem.  This product is now providing over 3 Million (dollars) in sales for Pacific Crest Corp.  (Pacific Crest recently sold to Trimble Navigation.)

 

-Designed and tested Laser Synchronization system for Coherent Inc. enabling their Ultrafast line to compete more effectively.  Performed all agency testing for UL and CE certification.

 

-Received a Patent for Analog (portion of) pen-based computer system.

 

-Secured agency approvals (Compliance Testing and Technical File construction) for Pacific Crest and Coherent Laser Products.

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

As A Consultant: Design and Test of Receiver and Synthesizer Control Systems, RF filters, mixers, amplifiers and  Analog Designs along with general System Design and Testing.  Designed and tested hardware, generated schematics, guided PCB layout.  Worked with Robidart and Associates (a consulting organization in Morgan Hill CA), ~1991 Intermittently to 2000.

 

Consultant for RF Power Supply for Directed Energy Incorporated, Fort Collins CO, March 2003 to Oct. 2003, designed matching networks, analog circuits, generated schematics, guided PCB layouts and performed system testing.

 

As a full-time employee:

 

-Pacific Crest in Santa Clara, CA  August 2000 to Sept 2002

 

Designed 450 MHz RF Modem for differential GPS system (as a consultant – returned as a full-time employee to do hardware design).  Designed, tested hardware, created schematics, guided PCB layout.  Directed / Performed all phases of work to obtain UL, CSA and CE certification.  Constructed Technical data files to support UL and CE certification.  Director of RF Engineering.

 

-Coherent Laser Inc. in Santa Clara, CA  Nov. 1993 to July 2000

 

Designed, built and tested RF and Analog Circuits to synchronize pulsed lasers.  Constructed Technical Data Files to support UL and CE certification.  Scheduled work for engineering staff and was a project engineer before becoming Manager of Ultrafast Electrical Engineering group.

 

-Poquet Computer  July 1991 to Sept 1992

 

Engineering Manager and Analog design engineer in support of a pen-based computer system.  Shared a patent with several other engineers for this work.

 

-ARGOSystems, Division of Boeing in Sunnyvale, CA  1984 to March 1991

 

RF, Analog and Control system designs in support of surveillance receiver systems.  Program manager and Project leader.
